Our client, an established leader in the Pharmaceutical field located in Central New Jersey, currently has an immediate opening for a Convention Planner. This is a contract opportunity, and will last for a minimum of 9 months. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES:
The Convention Analyst is responsible for the strategic planning and organization of booth activities at national conventions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Partner and work effectively with brand teams and suppliers to create and implement exhibit programs that maximize marketing and corporate objectives at conventions
- Assist brand teams in targeting key audiences, and identifying and implementing their convention program objectives
- Develop and manage individual project budgets as well as overall convention budget on behalf of brand team and ensure all projects come in on budget
- Evaluate, select and recommend suppliers who provide the best solutions to convention marketing efforts
- Partner with suppliers to implement booth designs and programs that are compliant with internal Review Committee and association rules and regulations
- Manage and document program details surrounding and supporting project delivery; observe deadlines and prioritize project calendars
- Identify and recommend strategic sponsorship and advertising opportunities to Corporate Communications and Marketing teams that support and maximize sanofi-aventis corporate and brand image at key medical conventions
- Work with internal departments to support the organization of ancillary meetings such as symposia, investigators meetings, press conferences, and internal staff meetings,etc. held in conjunction with conventions
- Build rapport and maintain relationships with exhibit managers at medical associations; act as key contact between sanofi-aventis and medical associations
- Analyze and evaluate effectiveness of convention programs to develop and shape future initiatives
- Implement measurement and assessment tools to determine the success of communication activities
- Effectively communicate convention activity to sales professionals and home office attendees
- Travel to and oversees onsite logistics at Tier 1 conventions
- Organize and lead on-site pre-convention orientation meetings
- Ensure all convention activities are compliant with company policies and guidelines
SKILLS:
- Convention, trade show, or association experience preferred
- Self-starter and innovator with ability to effectively manage convention planning process
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Proactive and effective team player: Must also be able to act independently and take direction from colleagues
- Ability to deal effectively with both internal and external customer as well as with all levels of management
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION:
College Degree Preferred
Must be able to work W-2 as a Devon Consulting employee.
